At our Spring Gathering on May 17th, Margie Thirlby, of The Thirlby Company, led us through a self-compassion activity. Here’s a bit of her wisdom:
Self-compassion is treating yourself with the same kindness, care, and understanding that you would offer a good friend who is struggling. People who practice self-compassion feel calmer, are more resilient, take more personal responsibility, are less fearful of making mistakes, have greater emotional intelligence, are happier, and practice better self-care.
You can improve your self-compassion by practicing the "Elements of Self-Compassion.
