This monthly online gathering is open to caregivers and those who live with SMI.

What are Your Options When Your Family Member Needs You to Manage Medical, Financial, and Other Life Challenges?
The Honorable Elizabeth Leith, Presiding Judge, Denver Probate Court
We are pleased to welcome Judge Leith, who is also a member of the BHDCJJS Task Force (Behavioral Health Disorders in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Systems). Her talk will address the difficult choices caregivers often have to consider when a family member is in psychosis and gravely disabled without the capacity to take care of their own daily needs. She will explain the legal options that are available in Colorado, such as Guardianship or Emergency Guardianship, Powers of Attorney, and Psychiatric Advance Directives. Please bring your questions. (Colorado ethics rules do not allow judges to answer personal questions or give guidance or advice on individual cases.)
