CO Mad Moms welcomed Michael Dougherty, DA of the 20th Judicial District (Boulder County) since 2018. His talk focused on the critical junction of justice and serious mental/brain illnesses. It included a Q&A discussing his efforts to disentangle serious mental illness from jail and the justice system.

CO Mad Moms hosted Leora Joseph, Director, Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health (OCFMH) for a Listen UP! talk. Her presentation and the Q&A covered the role of OCFMH and the services it provides. We also discussed state hospitals, the shortage of beds for those with SMI/SBI, and the changes she hopes to bring through OCFMH.
